Thermal Management
We consider thermal management as a process starting from
heat production from combustion, friction or electromagnetic induction - followed by
thermal transport through conduction, convection and radiation - allowing for
heat conversion and storage through boiling and phase change – and finally
heat disposal through cooling and removal to the environment.
We analyze heat and energy flows in complex systems to control and ensure component and system requirements
Examples:
- Engine warm-up analysis for arbitrary fuel consumption drive cycles
- Cooling systems design for series production and prototype vehicles
- 3D thermal analysis of combustion engines, turbo chargers, exhaust-systems, EGR cooler
- Validation of thermal environments as for vehicle engine compartments
- Thermal analyses of electric motors, alternators and electric modules
- Optimization of battery cooling
